Investors

Buy and Hold, Fix and Flip? What’s best for you? The buy and hold strategy offers the opportunity to achieve relatively stable returns over a long period of time while taking advantage depreciation, paying down of your mortgage, and appreciation of value over time. Fix and flip can be a bit more risky though. This strategy requires buying the right home at the right price giving you room to make repairs and upgrades to quickly sell at a much higher price. Beware as there’s also the risk that you could over-improve the property and lose money on the deal when it’s time to sell.  Let’s talk about a strategy that’s right for you.

The Journey

It’s the summer of 1980 and I’m at a friends house when his dad says, “kids, put on your swim trunks and meet me down at the lake.” Little did I know how my life would be forever changed.

1980

How it all started

Learned to water ski that warm summer day.

1980

1981

Just got real

Spent a lot of time practicing during the summer of ’80 and into ’81 before becoming a member of the local amateur ski team in Tomahawk WI

1987

Pursuing my dream

Over the past seven summers I practiced a lot doing the sport I loved, and got pretty good at it too. That fall I packed up the car and moved to Florida to ski at the world renowned Cypress Gardens

1995

Here comes real estate

After accomplishing virtually everything I wanted in water skiing, it was time to move on and get a “real” job. That spring of 1995 I passed my state licensing exam, joined the local Realtor Association, and placed my license with a great office. I’m officially a Realtor!

Time to move on to bigger and better things?

Development in a bigger city caught my attention and I found myself in Orlando working for local developers. I love new projects and Orlando had plenty of them

Crash

Development and housing sales came to a screeching halt. What now??

Still a part of me

After working in other sales/real estate related areas, it was time to regroup and reset. Took some time and enjoyed a few years of skiing again

Still Good

It’s still a good time to buy a house even in this shifting market. Interest rates are up but remember, marry the house, date the rate. I’m still helping families buy their first home, their vacation home, their investment home, and even their last home.
